Our first
competition was in Washington, D.C. in 2002 where
we
won 2nd place for our Black Raspberry Grillin' sauce!
We
were so happy that we decided to try another
competition. Then another, and another and we
haven't stopped since. Being from Maryland, we were always being made fun
of by the "Southern BBQ Teams",
apparently northerners can’t cook BBQ. Did that
discourage us? No! We knew our BBQ is good!
What am I saying!?!? It is great! So great, that
we qualified to compete in the World
Championship BBQ
Competition, known as Memphis in May in Memphis,
Tennessee.
Our
team is made up of friends, family… and anyone who
is free to get away for that particular weekend.
We
have competed in competitions in Florida, North
Carolina, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Virginia,
Maryland and our nation's capital Washington, D.C. We
have been featured in numerous newspapers around
the country and even a book called "The Grill of
Victory" by William Brohaugh.
